Austin, Texas, Located in central Texas, Travis County Parks is looking for an outstanding Park Supervisor II to join the Parks Department.

The County’s park system has 9,666 acres of parkland and 26 parks open to the public.
The position supervises and oversees park operations and maintenance programs, management of staff, facility maintenance, sports field maintenance, visitor services, recreation and sports coordination, safety programs and resource protection/maintenance programs in eastern Travis County. Develops turf management program for multiple types of natural grass athletic fields and ensures fields are safe, playable, and ready for scheduled reservations. The position enforces park rules, assists visitors and resolves conflicts among visitors and staff. In addition, the position ensures the maintenance and repair of park facilities, including electrical, masonry, plumbing, carpentry, painting, welding, turf management, sports field maintenance, and irrigation systems.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Business Administration, Turf Management, Agriculture, Forestry, Biology, Conservation, Geology, Wildlife Management, or other related Life Science discipline or a directly related field AND two (2) years of supervisory experience. Minimum of two (2) years of responsible supervisory experience in park operations and maintenance may be substituted for the college degree;

Any combination of education and experience that has been achieved and is equivalent to the stated education and experience and required knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this job.
Licenses, Registrations, Certifications, or Special Requirements:
Valid Texas Driver’s License.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Business Administration, Turf Management, Agriculture, Forestry, Biology, Conservation, Geology, Wildlife Management or other related Life Science discipline.
Water Operator’s License.
System Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS).
Texas Pesticide and Herbicide Applicator’s License.
